LCDR Landon Wiggins, CSP, REHS
LCDR Landon Wiggins is currently stationed at the Reno District Indian Health Service (IHS) Office of Environmental Health & Engineering located in Reno, NV. He serves as a United States Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps Environmental Health Officer and provides comprehensive environmental health services to Tribes in Nevada, Utah, & the Owens Valley of CA. He was formerly stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska with the Tanana Chiefs Health Corporation. LCDR Wiggins attended Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC and received a B.S. in Environmental Health Science. He also maintains professional registration through NEHA as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist/Registered Sanitarian and BCSP as a Certified Safety Professional.
Throughout his career, both in the private and public sectors he has been exposed to many different types of work environments; for example, oil spill response, hazardous tree removal, right-of-way maintenance , indoor air quality assessments, water & wastewater treatment, and most recently the healthcare setting. After beginning his career with a heavy civil/specialty contractor and now entering his tenth year as a USPHS Commissioned Corps Environmental Health Officer LCDR Wiggins strives to improved public health and occupational safety, while advancing the mission of the IHS Office of Environmental Health and Engineering.
